The parish of St Mary’s take Safeguarding seriously at all levels. We make checks through the DBS system of all our paid and volunteer staff. All members of our PCC who are trustees of this parish are DBS checked. We require all those who work with youth and vulnerable adults to be trained to at least level 0 and level 1 in the national Safeguarding training. Clergy, Churchwardens and our own Safeguarding officer are trained to level 2 or 3 as required.

We take Safeguarding seriously and regularly review our practice, training and policies.

If you have safeguarding concerns then you need to ask yourself is there an emergency? Is there an immediate risk of harm?

If YES then you must contact the Police and Social Services
